- Membership
of the Board comprises:
- Chairperson,
appointed by the Association for Adventure Sports
- Representatives
of each of the participating National Governing Bodies
- A representative
of the Irish Sailing Association
- A representative
of the Irish Association of Activity Centre
- A representative
of VEC Outdoor Education Centre managers
- Appointed monitors
- A technical
adviser nominated by the National Outdoor Training Centre
- Any other persons
nominated by the Board
Role
The role of the
Centre Standards Board is to:
- consider applications
for approval.
- receive reports
from its monitors which enable it to decide if an applicant meets
- all the
requirements of the National Governing Bodies as outlined in
the appendix to this booklet.
- the requirements
of the Board in regard to possession of adequate Public Liability
insurance, a Safety Statement and an Operations Manual.
- decide on the
basis of monitors reports, whether or not to grant approval, if
necessary, to withdraw or vary approval or conditions of approval.
