Before you go
The Bullig Bay Loop is a short, enjoyable walk located by Dunboy Castle, near Castletownbere in West Cork. It offers pleasant views on a mix of forest tracks, quiet country road and farmland. The trail is in generally good condition but waymarking needs some extra reassurance markers and it is inconsistent in places with differnt coluors being used. The trail surface is solid, except for a very muddy section crossing a farmyard. While the loop is described on the Discover Ireland website in an-clockwise direction it is way marked in a clockwise direction. There is as yet no map board in place but this is to be erected soon.
